Life has been hectic, to say the least. We moved back to Sweden 2 weeks ago, and left our Italian adventure behind us. We’ve had some amazing experiences there and I will miss so many things. Still, I’m glad to be home.

The creative side of my life has definitely taken a backseat in this turbulent time, but I have something to share that I managed to find time to make over a month ago. It was my son’s birthday and here’s what he got from me.

Recipe:

Stamps: Panduro (boy and letters), Prima (background)

Inks: Distress inks, Versacolor

Papers: cardstock, Basic Grey (Marrakech)

Other: Koh-I-Noor pencils, Dove blender pen, Stickles.

Thanks for looking!

Two things to share today. First I made a card for the Just Magnolia challenge #24, which is a colour combo. Pink/grey and black is optional. I combined it with the sketch from Friday sketchers #71 and here’s the result.

Edwin with roses_front

Edwin with roses_inside

Edwin with roses_back recipe:

Paper: Bazzill cardstock, Basic Grey pp

Stamps: Magnolia (edwin with roses), Prima and Stämpelgården (sentiment)

Ink: Distress inks, Versamark, Color Box

Other: Koh-I-Noor pencils, Dove blender, lace from stash, Fiskars border punch, half pearls, Nestabilities

The other thing is a toot. My card was featured on Scrapperlicious’ blog on Friday, how cool is that? Go check it out and leave a cooment! 🙂

Have a great week and pop back in soon again!

The challenge on the Just Magnolia blog is distressing this week, so how could I resist entering? 🙂 It is my first time joining in this challenge, but I’m sure it won’t be my last! I used this week’s gorgeous sketch on the Truly Scrumptious blog.

This photo doesn’t show it but the snow flake (a Nestie die) has a coat of Crackle Accent on the Broken China distress ink and it looks really cool IRL. The image is coloured with Distress Inks.

There is a lot of distressing, all papers are inked and scraped for a worn look.

Some days I feel like this non-stop heat will be the death of me. But I also know that once summer is over I’ll be complaining about the cold, rain and wind, so there’s no pleasing me, is there? 😉

Despite the mind-numbing temps we’ve been having I managed to find it within myself to make a Christmas card. Crazy, isn’t it? I mean, it’s JULY. But Novmber will be here sooner than we’d like to think and I just don’t want to panic like I did last year.

So.

Friday Sketchers had a wonderful sketch and I just had have a go at it.

We’re having wonderful summer weather and it makes it hard to get much done, but I have managed to make a few things.

I turned these photos into sepia for a more vintage look and used sketch # 57 on Creative Scrappers for the design. The papers areBasic Grey and Cosmo Cricket. Stamps are from Prima, Making Memories and Stamperia. There is a coat of white acrylic paint and then Distress Crackle Paint in Aged Mahogany on the cardboard hearts. The lace is from my stash and I have hand stitched around the edges.

Here is a closer view of my hearts.

My husband’s nephew had a birthday yesterday and with him being a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan (something I totally have in common with him…) I thought he’d enjoy a themed card. So I spent some time on the Internet (as if I don’t do that enough as it is!) looking for images to print.

I have also used a frame from Kristine on all the images. The sentiment tag says Happy Birthday in Elvish (yes, I’m also terribly geeky…)  and it can be liftet up for an English version.

2009_07_13_4941_editedOn the inside I’ve printed a map of Middle Earth and distressed it a lot. For the greeting spot I’ve used Nestabilities Labels One.

Well, that’s what I had to show today. Thank you for stopping by. Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Here’s another LO I made of my girl. It’s about how she’s learning to talk and the funny words she uses. She has a juice addiction, but she calls it “chi”. 🙂

Here are a few cards that I made in May, but forgot to show here.

2009_05_23_2277_edited

I had help with this first one. My son, Oliver (3.5 yo), wanted to make a card for his grandma who is recovering from a complicated knee surgery. He proceeded to punch out the hearts and flowers, paint them with acrylic paints and glue them to the panel that I had prepared for him. Isn’t that just amazing, considering his age? Maybe I’m biased, but I do think I might have a future crafter in him… 🙂 He has so much fun doing crafty things and loves watching me do them too. It’s adorable.

The image on this one is a stamp from Stämpelboden. I’ve coloured it with Distress inks, which I’m still learning how to do, so obviously the result is such as it is. I’ve used an embossing folder on the base card and inked over it with distress inks to bring out the pattern more.

2009_05_23_2287_edited

I liked how the embossed pattern looked on the inside of the card, so I didn’t cover it up when I decorated it.

2009_05_23_2289_edited

The backside is very simple. The stamp around the text is from Prima. I have a love thing for Prima’s stamps. 🙂

The last card I have to show today was for my husband’s brand new niece. Unfortunately it seems to have gotten lost in the mail so they never received it. Very disappointing, obviously.

2009_05_26_2336_edited

It’s another z-card, which I learned from SaSsa’s blog (link is in a post below). The teddybear is coloured with Koh-I-Noor pencils and a Dove blender pen.

2009_05_26_2337_edited

The tag has a poem about babies written on it. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey. The stamped frame is from Prima, of course. 😉

Now I need to figure out if I’ll make another similar card for the baby or something totally different. I really do want to make another card though, as having a new baby is such an important event and I want her to one day know how happy we were welcome her to the family. And I am dying to see her! We are going to visit them in Poland in August if everything works out as we plan.

Thanks for looking!
