I promised I’d share a new layout I made for my technique class, so I will.
I made the layout using one of the grungy background papers I showed in my last post, I also used a technique we learned in class #4, making our own rub-ons. I printed the title and the quote on a transparency and transferred it to the layout. This technique is really neat and I know I will use it a LOT.
I did several things ere that I would never had done before taking ths class. One is to paint chipboard letters while letting the acrylic paint deliberately end up on the layout – GASP!
There is also stickles on the chipboard, so it’s really sparkly in real life. Another new thing for me is to stamp on a photo, this used to be a no-no for me, but I am trying hard to learn to let go. I LOVE this look on layouts but I’ve been too scared of making mistakes to ever try this. And those random spots of paint? The instructor calls it cleaning your brush on the paper!
It’s very liberating to do this, who’d have thought?
By the way, my son’s pose reminded me so much of Rodin’s Le Penseur that the title seemed a given. I love that sculpture so much. In fact, one of my most memorable museum visits ever was to the Rodin museum in Paris some years ago. It was incredible.
Thanks for looking!
